Seaplane Ride

Dad gave mom the most amazing birthday gift-a seaplane ride. She smiled all day long and could not stop talking about it.

Sea Kayaking in the San Juan Islands

Mom and Dad took a day off and went to the San Juan Islands to go sea kayaking. Mom's been wanting to do this since we moved out here, but I'm getting a little jealous of all these trips without me. I have started carrying around mom's slipper with me everywhere I go as a way to show my discontent, but I don't think they are getting the message.

Peaceful kayaking, in a divorce boat. I'm happy to report that my parents seem compatible. They have now been through the divorce boat test and no one fell in the water and there were no arguments, in fact it went well.

Mom and dad saw seals and sea lions. Mom wishes that they had their own boat to go kayaking anytime they wanted. I had to remind her that it would not be a good investment since I could not be included on these adventures, she agreed.

September 2010-Grandma came to visit

Grandma and mom did lots of stuff while she was here visiting. They tried to see some salmon run on the fish ladder at the Ballard Locks. There were a few, but they did see a sea otter that I think was lost.

Mom and dad took grandma to Woodinville, WA-wine country. They took a tour and went to a wine tasting.

I think grandma's favorite part of her visit was her trip to Pike Place Market and the Savor Seattle Food tour. This is Rachel the piggy bank.

Grandma got to go fishing, well she got to 'catch' one anyone. 1st she had to get some instructions and practice in.

I was very depressed when grandma left that I took over her bed.

September 2010-Grandma came to visit, Victoria, British Columbia

Grandma, mom and dad took the Victoria Clipper from Seattle to Victoria, B.C. I could not go, and trust me I filed a formal protest to these Clipper people stating how it is discrimination not to let a dog like me go along for a ride. I have yet to hear back. It was a 3 hour boat ride through Elliot Bay, Puget Sound and into the Strait of Juan De Fuca.

It was so cold on the deck of the boat and it was so foggy that day that they could not see the mountains. Mom said she kept her eye out for an orca, but did not see one.
