After stopping in at Wall Drug, we spent the night in Rapid City, SD.
Day 5 lead us to Black Hills National Forest, a place i was allowed to explore. But, it was raining.
My scenery was definitely different.
We did a Mt. Rushmore 'drive by'. Dad said i had to see these 4 guys before my face got added to the group as First Dog. We couldn't stop because people were everywhere. They were preparing for over 30,000 spectators for that evening's 4th of July firework show. I just thought that these 4 guys looked sad for some reason.
Wait, where are we. Is that a dinosaur up there? Maybe he'll want to play with me.
Yep, i'm still riding. I love my couch in the car. I don't know why i never had these kinds of accommodations before.
Once we left the forest the weather started to get better. Welcome to Wyoming.
WY has major wind gusts across the highway, so they have fences like this built on the sides of the road to try and dissipate the wind.
But, in case the wind gets too bad they can close the entire major interstate down.
